Privacy Policy

Updated on October 22, 2025

Welcome to the Social Learning SLP website, mobile app, and related digital services (“Social Learning SLP Site,” the “Site,” or “Sites”), an online education, coaching, and communications service provided by Social Learning SLP, LLC (“Social Learning SLP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

We take your privacy seriously and want you to understand how we collect, use, share, and protect your information—especially where it may relate to communication differences and the autism spectrum. In addition to this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”), please review our [Terms and Conditions of Use] and any service-specific terms that apply.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Sites where it is posted. Other Social Learning SLP online properties may have their own privacy policies that apply to those sites. Please review those policies when using those services.

What information we collect

Information you give us

We respect the privacy of all visitors and users. We receive and store information that you enter on our Sites or provide to us in any other way. This may include:

  • Personal Data: name, email address, telephone number(s), postal/billing/shipping address, account credentials, age/date of birth, and identifiers (e.g., IP address or device ID for account security).

  • Payment Data: credit/debit card or other payment details (processed by our payment vendor).

  • Education/Therapy Context: information you choose to share related to communication skills, goals, accommodations, learning styles, interests, scheduling needs, or service eligibility (including information connected to the autism spectrum such as sensory preferences, communication modes, support plans, and progress notes).

  • Forms and Records: information provided in intake forms, consent forms, program registrations, questionnaires, or support requests.

  • Correspondence: records and copies of your communications with us (including email addresses).

  • Surveys and Research Feedback: responses you provide for research, development, or service improvement.

  • Transactions: order details, subscription status, and fulfillment information.

You may also submit information to be published or displayed in community areas (“User Contributions”). Posting is at your own risk. Although we may restrict certain pages, no security measure is perfect. We cannot control how other users may use your User Contributions.

Note on sensitive data: If you choose to share sensitive information (e.g., information about health, disability, or the autism spectrum), we will handle it as described in this Policy. Social Learning SLP is an educational platform and may not be a HIPAA-covered entity; however, we apply reasonable safeguards to protect sensitive information you provide.

Information we collect automatically

As you navigate or use our Sites, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage Details: traffic data, logs, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, error information, and clickstream data.

  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, app version, and device settings.

  • Location Data: approximate location derived from your IP address or, if enabled, device settings.

  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and local storage to recognize you, remember preferences, authenticate sessions, analyze use, and improve content.

These data help us to:

  • estimate audience size and usage patterns;

  • improve performance, accessibility, and features;

  • tailor content and remember your preferences; and

  • recognize and/or authenticate you when you return to the Sites.

Technologies we use

  • Cookies (browser/app): Small files stored on your device. You can refuse non-essential cookies in your browser or device settings; doing so may limit some Site functionality.

  • Pixels/Web Beacons: Small code or files in pages/emails that help us count visits, assess engagement, and verify system integrity.

  • Do Not Track: Some browsers send “DNT” signals. We do not currently respond to DNT signals. We also do not track your activity across unaffiliated websites for advertising unless you have opted into a program that authorizes such tracking.

Email communications, newsletters, and related services

You may opt in to newsletters, updates, and educational messages. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. Messages you send via Site email links may be shared internally with the appropriate team member (e.g., support staff or licensed professional) to address your inquiry. Standard email is not automatically encrypted—please avoid sending sensitive information (such as payment details) via unencrypted email.

Surveys

From time to time we may conduct surveys. Survey data are typically used in aggregated, de-identified form to improve services, including services relevant to learners on the autism spectrum. If we request contact information for follow-up, you may decline. Third-party providers assisting with survey management are required to keep responses confidential.

How we use the information we collect

In addition to the uses above, we use information to:

  • operate, maintain, and improve our Sites, programs, and user experience;

  • personalize content and supports (including for learners on the autism spectrum);

  • provide services, manage accounts, and process orders and payments;

  • facilitate scheduling, reminders, and customer support;

  • conduct research, analytics, product development, and service quality reviews;

  • send administrative notices, newsletters, and promotional communications (you may opt out of marketing at any time); and

  • enforce our terms, prevent fraud/abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We may combine information collected through the Sites with information from our service providers or partners to enhance accuracy and delivery of services.

Texting (SMS)

If you opt in to receive text messages, you consent to receive operational texts related to your Social Learning SLP account (e.g., reminders, one-time passcodes, billing notices). Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Data retention

We retain information while your account is active or as needed to provide services, meet legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When no longer required, we will delete or de-identify data, subject to applicable laws (e.g., tax, consumer, or children’s privacy rules).

Disclosure of your information

We may share information with:

  • Service Providers & Contractors: hosting, security, analytics, communications, customer support, and payment processing—only as necessary to perform services for us and subject to confidentiality obligations.

  • Affiliates/Professional Partners: to deliver or improve programs, coaching, or content (including supports tailored to the autism spectrum), where permitted by law and your preferences.

  • Advertising/Analytics Partners: to measure performance and (where permitted) deliver or assess promotions.

  • Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, court order, or government request; to protect rights, safety, or property; and to prevent fraud or security issues.

  • Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization, or similar transaction.

  • With Your Consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

We may share aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not identify individuals.

Choices about how we use and disclose information

  • Cookie Controls: Use your browser or device settings to manage cookies. Disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.

  • Email Preferences: You may opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link. Operational emails (e.g., receipts, service notices) will still be sent.

  • Targeted Advertising: To learn more about interest-based advertising and your choices, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative. Opting out does not stop advertising; it prevents interest-based targeting.

Your rights: accessing, correcting, and deleting information

You may review and update certain account information via your profile. You may also contact us at privacy@sociallearningslp.com to request access, correction, or deletion of Personal Data (subject to verification and legal limits). Deleting your account may not remove all data we are legally required or permitted to retain.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect Personal Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Sites at your own risk.

Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Where applicable, we process personal data on the bases of consent, contract necessity, legal obligation, and/or legitimate interests (balanced against your rights and freedoms). Personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws; we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
EEA/UK/Swiss users may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to/limit processing and to data portability. To exercise rights, contact privacy@sociallearningslp.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Protecting children’s privacy

Our Sites are intended to be used by parents/guardians, adult learners, and professionals. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent (or under the age defined by applicable local law). Parents/guardians may create or manage accounts on behalf of a minor learner, including learners on the autism spectrum. If we learn that a child has provided Personal Data without required consent, we will delete it. To report such a case, contact privacy@sociallearningslp.com.

Links to other websites

Our Sites may link to third-party websites that have their own privacy policies and practices. We are not responsible for those sites. Please review their policies when you visit them.

Privacy Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or our services. When we make material changes, we will update the “Updated” date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, including the rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing/sale of Personal Information. We do not sell Personal Information as the term “sell” is commonly understood, but we may engage in limited “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by law. To exercise your rights, use the contact information below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights.
